A self-paced course for therapists, counselors and coaches:
The couple you brace for.
Two people who have had the same fight four hundred times, and a practitioner who has quietly become the referee. There is a way to work the cycle instead of adjudicating it.

Trainings 8 and 9 of the Weinberg Compass

Taught by Rabbi Dr. Noam Weinberg
You already see these clients. You were never trained for them.
Sessions that escalate faster than you can slow them down.
Being pulled, every week, to rule on who is right.
Not knowing with confidence where high conflict ends and coercion begins.
A betrayal disclosed in the room, and no roadmap for the six weeks that follow.

What changes.
The question your client walks in with, and the one you learn to work instead.
“Which partner is causing the problem?”
“What keeps happening between them, and what is each one feeding it?”
“How do we get past this?”
“What has to happen for safety and trust to have any chance of being rebuilt?”
What is inside.
Trainings 8 and 9 of the Weinberg Compass, recorded and self-paced. Yours to work through at whatever speed your caseload allows.
- 01
What actually makes a couple high conflict, beyond frequent arguing.
- 02
Why the content is rarely the real problem, and how to map the cycle instead of refereeing it.
- 03
Blame, defensiveness, and polarization: how each partner's move recruits the other's.
- 04
Differentiating high conflict from abuse or coercion. The distinction you cannot afford to get wrong.
- 05
Triangulation, and what happens to children inside a high-conflict family.
- 06
Controlling another person as a way of regulating yourself.
- 07
Structure when communication itself has stopped working.
- 08
Ambivalence about the relationship, and setting goals that are actually reachable.
- 09
Betrayal as an attachment injury, not merely a broken rule.
- 10
The immediate aftermath, and why major decisions have to be slowed down.
- 11
Disclosure, the need for truth, and accountability that does not become endless punishment.
- 12
Why “move on” is usually the wrong early intervention.
- 13
Forgiveness, reconciliation, and trust as three separate things clients collapse into one.
- 14
A staged roadmap toward repair, and how to tell whether trust can be rebuilt at all.

Who is teaching this.
I am Rabbi Dr. Noam Weinberg. For three decades I have sat with people through the defining moments of their lives, as a rabbi, an educator, a school leader and a mentor.
Everyone called what I was seeing communication problems. They were not. Once I stopped treating the argument as the problem, cases that had been stuck for years started moving in weeks. This course is the part of that method that applies to the clients above.
