A self-paced course for therapists, counselors and coaches:
The teenager who stopped talking.
Parents come to you wanting their child back in line. The work is helping them stay influential at exactly the moment they have lost control, which is not the same thing and is far harder.

Trainings 6 and 7 of the Weinberg Compass

Taught by Rabbi Dr. Noam Weinberg
You already see these clients. You were never trained for them.
A parent reading every adolescent behavior as disrespect, rejection, or proof they failed.
Consequences that escalate every month and produce less each time.
A parent whose own anxiety is now driving every conversation in the house.
A teenager who has walked away from everything the family stands for, and a parent asking you to fix it.

What changes.
The question your client walks in with, and the one you learn to work instead.
“Why is my teenager doing this to me?”
“What is developmental here, and how do I move from control to influence?”
“How do I get my child back in line?”
“How do I stay an effective parent when I cannot control my child's inner world?”
What is inside.
Trainings 6 and 7 of the Weinberg Compass, recorded and self-paced. Yours to work through at whatever speed your caseload allows.
- 01
Adolescence developmentally. Which behaviors are a task being worked out and which are a signal.
- 02
Why taking adolescence personally is the single most expensive mistake a parent makes.
- 03
Separation and individuation, and what the pulling away is actually for.
- 04
Authority versus control, and influence versus control. Two distinctions that change everything.
- 05
Boundaries that hold without severing the relationship.
- 06
Responding rather than reacting, and how to reduce a power struggle instead of winning it.
- 07
Consequences versus punishment.
- 08
Knowing what belongs to the parent and what does not.
- 09
Rebellion as communication: what the behavior is saying when the words are not available.
- 10
Why increased pressure produces decreased influence, and what to do with that.
- 11
Shame, belonging, and identity in a teenager who has drifted.
- 12
The parent's grief, which almost nobody names or treats.
- 13
Rebuilding connection after prolonged conflict, and repairing the parent's own mistakes.

Who is teaching this.
I am Rabbi Dr. Noam Weinberg. For three decades I have sat with people through the defining moments of their lives, as a rabbi, an educator, a school leader and a mentor.
Everyone called what I was seeing communication problems. They were not. Once I stopped treating the argument as the problem, cases that had been stuck for years started moving in weeks. This course is the part of that method that applies to the clients above.
